For over 10 years both Gord and Steve worked as senior project managers with the UK's leading timber frame company Carpenter Oak & Woodland Co Ltd (COWCo), where they led more than 100 successful new projects, and helped to conserve some of Britain's most precious architectural treasures including: Windsor Castle, Stirling Castle, Dolbelydr and many other important medieval buildings.

For over ten years, both Gord and Steve worked as senior project managers with the UK's leading timber frame company Carpenter Oak & Woodland Co Ltd (COWCo), where they led more than 100 successful new projects, and helped to conserve some of Britain's most precious architectural treasures including: Windsor Castle, Stirling Castle, Dolbelydr and many other important medieval buildings.

In 1999, Gord launched a new branch of business for COWCo in Scotland: opening The Framing Yard at Lintrathen. Over the next four years Gord, Steve and Steph grew this new business to a staff of 19, with annual sales over $1 million. The Framing Yard was responsible for some of COWCo's most exciting and innovative projects during that period, earning them a number of awards:
